"If you ask anything in my name, I will "(John 14:14). We show the greatness that we attribute to our Christ by the things we ask in his name. We are told to ask and we expect great things. We demonstrate the greatness of Christ by the greatness of our supplications. We get so little of Christ, because we ask him soon.
We limit our requests for material things. Of course, we must make our needs known. But we diminish our vision of greatness when we ask only what to eat and how we live.
The kingdom of God is joy and peace in the Holy Spirit! We serve a Christ victorious, and we are called to share his triumph. Have you joy and peace through the Holy Spirit? Are you at the foot of his throne to ask the joy and peace? Requests you to the Father "by the name of Jesus"?
Christ did not triumph for himself. He has done for you and me. So we have the benefit. You ask to look more like Christ? You ask in faith, in the name of Jesus, the promised rest in Hebrews?
God desires and expects to larger applications. Request "in the name of Jesus" is an invitation to share large goodness God has in store for those who believe and who ask great things. Apply today a mindset that will take you to rejoice even in the hardest times.
What can we say about the crowd of 5000 in the New Testament, when Jesus asked his disciples what they should do? In other words: Show me what you would do for food? How to deal with this crisis? He put their faith to the test.
From the beginning, Jesus had a plan. Who among the crowd, would think to feed them with five loaves and two fishes?
Beloved, God has a plan prepared for every situation in your life. You think maybe the means that God could implement to get you out of the race, but the Word of God teaches us that the human mind can not conceive of God's ways.
God will not tell us what his plan is. It does not even give us a clue. He wants us to have faith in his promises, his majesty, the wonders he has done for us in the past. His word for us is: Believe! Your Lord has prepared a path for you, and he has the power to accomplish his plans. He would lift the veil and show us the way invisible, but can not.
Faith is being sure of things we do not see. It can not be any rest for us in our trials until we fully believe that he is ready. Ready to do the unthinkable, the impossible. Our part is simply to believe he will do what it promised.
